YM2000 alternator and its separate regulator are same as 72 Datsun (Nissan) WITHOUT air conditioning. Available and cheap. The modern version is electronics potted in plastic. Same performance.

(Note the AC version Datsun alternator is too fat to fit there).

Two different Types of Reg. Old Stye VG. and Solid State. This is the solid state. New Style your see on Fredricks refurbished units. The Old Style a big Square box with the same plug attachment. Like a old auto mobiles. Both style Regulators are separate from the Alt. not built into them like the new Alternators. The old style is actually back behind the new one in the Pic.. Wiring problem ended up finding out and not the VR. so I left it in. It works to!!

Thank you
The 6 terminal pin VR is the VR-550, found on many Japan made autos, machines and tractors of the late 70s and into the 80s. In fact, it's been upgraded to solidstate.

Here is the Fredricks PDF catalog info, yours is the VR-550.

Yes, the part number above is a Shibaura Japan tractor part. Or imported here as a Ford 1000 series tractor. Many Japan tractor parts are shared across the brands.
