Has anyone removed their back rest on a Mahindra 6000? Does one take the trim off and then the pad to access the bolts or does one dismantle part of the seat adjustment mechanism from behind to access the bolts? A couple of pictures are attached.

Hmmm...good question. Never really looked at it. Will though and if I have any thoughts will let you know. Nice grease gun mount. Never thought of that.

Actually I figured it out this past weekend. The two screws on top come out. Each screw holds a rubber stop (bumper) in place. This then allows the top bracket to rotate enough so one one get a 13 mm wrench on the 4 bolts. The top two are easy. The bottom two are a bear since one only has about 15 degrees of movement.
Finally got the 4 bolts out and the back removed. Made a template of the hole pattern to allow me to drill the seat side arm attachment that I purchased from Burden Sales Surplus Center - Hydraulics, Engines, Electrical and More, Item 1-2646. Then reinstalled the seatback with side arms.

This past weekend, I installed a 2nd set on my Branson 3510. Access was much easier, but I did have to use longer bolts to reinstall to ensure sufficient thread contact with the set back.
