Scotts L17.542
I just inherited a Scotts L1742 (made by John Deere) and am looking to mount a snow plow. I have a simple 50' driveway with a small down slope. Does anyone know what the equivalent John Deere model is so I can either buy a new plow and mounting bracket or shop for a used one. Does anyone have a pic of their mounting so that I might fabricate a mount for some other blade?

I had a 25hp GT5000 by sears. Nice garden tractor. I bought a plow from home depot and adapted it. If the snow was light, 3 inches and the ground was not icy, it did well. I had chains on it, but no wheel weights. I used it a little, but soon the driveway was icy and the snow too thick. I think a snowblower mounted on it would have done a better job. My walk behind Bolens snowblower did the job. I've used a Farmall cub to plow snow- that did well. Now I use my NH TC30 with a plow on the bucket- works well- more maneuverable than when I plowed with my pickup- but colder!
