Traction on ice

   / Traction on ice #21
Don't laugh.
What I do is engage my tractor in low low, place a bucket of sand on the top of the snow blower and walk alongside as I scoop out sand and 1/4" stone and fling it as I walk along behind.
Works for me. (I do need to lash the steering to keep a straight line).
Have done this for some 7-8 years.
Mind U in low low I can walk faster. (well low throttle setting)

Our Universal tractor used to have a creeper gear. Great for stuff like that! Or pulling cable with one person. I wished I had put one in my JD when upgrading the tranny recently.
