I have been checking my stump cutter for excess wear and found fair bit of slack in the "Boom Head Lift Pin" and bushings (Items 2. & 4. below), and would like to R&R the pin & worn bushings.

Problem:
The pin is stuck and has so far not budged!
I have removed the bolt and large nut (items 4. & 6.) holding the pin place, and have applied fair amount of heat to the boom head collars and tried to drive out the pin with a large hammer & brass pin, but so far the pin has not moved at all.

(The boom head is made of cast iron and will probably break if hit too hard)

Question:
Has anyone here had to deal with this issue in SC362 and how did you get the pin to move without breaking the cast iron boom head (close to $500 part)?

A week of penetrating juice since you've tried heat?
I just happened across a "YouTube guy" that swears by heating the pin to a point where it'll melt candle wax and draw it into the friction points.....
I've never tried this yet but there's hope with optimism. 😆

Broco rod just need some
Oxygen and battery
Working on dozers don’t leave home without it

Have been spraying penetrating oil in-between heating & cooling it for over a week now, so far not helping.
I have been hesitant to heat the boom head collars lot more, but that I could do easily with a large oxy-acet torch.

Sorry, cutting the pin with oxy-rod is not feasible without destroying the $500 cast iron boom head!

The other thing about cast is if you keep
Heating it it will actually shrink
So once you heat you need to hit it or figure out a press to work on it
I have shrunk quite a few castings so pin would fit tighter

Put freon on the pin and it'll drive out

When I put axle bushings in the dozers we used liquid nitrogen
It was like chemistry class all ov again 🤙
