What would you recommend as a wrap/cushion for an older chainsaw handle that had the foam grip dry rotted?

thanks

one of the in-expensive leather/foam plastic type steering wheel covers, they are usually round and already come with a good wraping cord attached, cut the thing to lenght and wrap up using the cord whalla all done.

Bicycle handlebar tape may also be used. It comes in many different forms.

You could also look at the grip tape used for wrapping tennis racquet handles. Very inexpensive

Thanks, I hadn't considered that. The foam on my 041 is beginning to fail and what is needed is something with a bit of cushioning - that should work.

Hi.......I have a 041 Stihl. The rubber handle grip rotted and tore. I used good electrical tape, but it didn't last long. Got tired of re-tapping it. Dealer said that they could order the rubber grip, or a whole new handle.
I took the handle off, masked the ends where it bolted on, and took it to a Rain-x truck bed liner dealer. He sprayed a heavy coat on it while he was doing a customers truck. Looks and works good. $10.00.
I used Rain-x cause theirs goes on hot, and he was local.
I have Rhino on my truck, it would probably work too.
