Screw In Tire Studs

Try using your steering brakes.
I dont think small studs would hold the front end very well
but they might.

For me, even if they did work, I wouldn't want them in/on all the time. Seems the very few times front chains are needed, they are soon taken off. Hard to do that with the studs.

Twice this winter I've had the front tire chains on, but the snow/ice conditions changed within a day each time, so the chains came off.

But please do let us know how you like them, and how well they work. That would be good information to have.

When I had a Gravely with Ag tires, I screwed some metal screws into the outer part of the lugs. Do a search here, and you'll find statements of people using metal screws in motorcycle tires to race them on the ice.

Just measure the depth of your lugs and buy screws no longer than that.

We have found that the MaxiGrip studs work well on front tractor tire applications. Many tractor manufacturers will void their warrantee on the front end differential if chains are used. Studs are easily installed and removed with the included tool in each package. Simply keep them in a coffee can during the spring, summer and fall months and re-install for winter. More information can be found on the Manufacterers website at MAXIGRIP ICE STUDS | Tire Studs | Winter Studs and retail pricing at Buy Tire Chains & Snow Chains from the Traction Specialists©.

no, but I've done alot of business with them. They always seem to have a solution to any application that I run accross.

For extra steering traction, do you have an option to add extra front end weight?
