Considering trying bar-turf to replace R1. They look pretty grippy to me and would like to try something different. This is for a small-ish tractor (regular "B" Series) I mainly use for (light) forestry, occasional snow removal, and tilling. Also have a mid-mount mower for it I rarely use but would like to.

Never even knew such a tire existed until about a week ago. Any other "weird" tires I may not know about which could possibly compete with R1s?

What is a bar turf to you? Bar-turf is not a standard, understandable tire term.

Why do you wish to replace your R1/ag tires, sometimes termed 'bar' tires?

This is the specific one I saw that looked pretty interesting: 781224-Bar truf 3.jpg

Tires are pretty old/ worn out and appear slightly mismatched with the front. I'm a bit skittish to use 4WD unless I'm in something pretty deep/ sketchy so as to not damage transmission.

You seem uncertain what tires are on tractor in photo.

While it would be unusual, they may be radial tractor tires.

Tractor radials are expensive. Radials are normally operated at very low pressure; <10 psi. Radials are considered "grippy".

What information is molded into the tire sidewall?

Ah cool. I'll just stick with standard AGs if those types are pricy. Just curious about them. Just an odd pattern I've never seen before, even on larger tractors.

Next time, post all the tire information molded into the tire sidewall.

I've only seen them in photos (like the one here). Never in person.

Only one that I seen remotely close is made by Goodyear and called "Xtra Trac".

Awesome! Thank you. Those tires look interesting enough to give them a shot.
