My 2016 Ram 3500 Cab/Chassis did not come with a tire pressure monitoring system.

I have 2 - 14k trailers that I use often.

I'm considering buying a TPMS with 14 sensors, 6 for the truck and 4 for each trailer.

Are these aftermarket systems worth the money? Are they reliable?

Looks like the cheaper systems are about $650 for 14 tires.

Anyone have any thoughts on these systems?

I've never used an aftermarket system, I have the one in my 2015 Ram 1500 and the one in my wifes 2013 Equinox and I am pleased with there operation, I am considering getting a system for my motorcycle. The Ram system is nicer then the Equinox's it will learn on it's own when a tire is changed, when I install the snows or switch back to the summers the Ram will learn it's self which tire is where but the Equinox I had to buy a tool to activate the sensor in each wheel after putting the car in the learn mode. The aftermarket system you are looking at how does it know which trailer you are using and the location of each tire? Do you have to learn the monitor each time?
