Thought I'd pass some info to those who have a A,B or early C model Toolcat or those who are looking to buy a used one.These units had a high rate of drive motor failure. Some at very low hours. If you have one of these models and the drive seems sluggish check it out before major damage is done. When these motors fail they contaminate the hyd system and if not caught in time can take out the drive pumps! Note,a loose pump drive belt or drive pump calibration can cause the drive to be sluggish. Easiest way to check drive motors is to push on something that will not move. I like to remove the bucket. Have the engine at an idle. SLOWLY depress the drive pedal. The engine should labor and the wheels should turn or try to turn. If both front and rear do not turn you have a weak or failing motor. A really bad motor will cause the charge PSI to drop out and you will momentarily loose drive.
