Price Quotes for 5600D

Last week I quoted a 5600D from my local dealer in Indianapolis. It was equipped with heat/AC, high flow, attachment control kit, and 74" general purpose bucket for $39,546 before taex. This included freight and PDI. What are other people being quoted?

Yours is the first quote I have heard. I beleive that is not too far off from quotes for the C series. I will wait a while to work out any issues with new model. I have also seen a prototype 3 point D series with rear PTO that I hope will go into production. That would be the one for me.

Keep in mind that Govt orders (including school districts) are usually built/processed first by most manufacturers.

"Regular Joe" orders might take a little longer.

Not true Kopycat. Bobcat Co. processes orders based on two criteria- retailed or stock. Retailed orders take precedence as there is a customer waiting for the item. Stock orders are simply that, for stock. In fact, on governmental and municipal sales, the typical lead time is 30-45 days. You normally DON'T get it any faster than 30 days. I just ordered a loader for a customer this morning and I expect it here by about March 16th.

The quote for the D series is a pretty good deal. With that option and attachment package I'd say that's about what the vast majority of buyers are going to see. Remember, the Toolcat is one-of-a-kind.

Are you aware of the cab size on the new D model??? Previous posts list width with smaller tires as 56". My cab without the handles is wider than that (c model) at 59". Curious if the cab is smaller/more narrow.

The cab dimensions have not changed. Some of the controls and switches have been relocated for easier use. The throttle lever and dump control have been moved. There are a couple new switches in the cab as well. Only the box dimensions changed.

what is your opinion (I see from prior posts you have been at this bobcat game for a while) on a first year model. i realize much of the mechanicals are carryover, but the suspension and frame seem all new. i never buy a first year model auto as the reliability always improves significantly in the first 2 years. i have someone interested in my c but i am a bit hesitant to buy a first year model as the d is really new in many ways. my c has been tested and runs like a top.

My opinion is you should get one.

I nominate 'ts' to be the official TBN Toolcat 'D' tester. Requirements would be minimal; previous Toolcat owner (check), decent digital camera (if you can afford the Toolcat a camera should not be a problem), decent writing skills (check) and of course $$$$ (maybe not so minimal).
