Default 6.4 Powerstroke in F150?

I've seen this mentioned in a couple of truck magazines, to be intoduced in 2009 as a 2010 model. Anyone else seen/heard this?

I think it's suppose to be a 2010 model and it'll be a 6 cylinder diesel. This means it won't be the 6.4L.

Navistar had a V6 diesel for the F150 but it was killed because it couldn't meet emissions. Ford ended up paying off Navistar for that blunder.

Will a 6-cylinder diesel in a 1/2 ton pickup start competition from GM and Dodge; perhaps Toyota or Nissan??

This should be interesting to see what happens...and what the cost will be.

Toyota already has a diesel in the works. It should be out in another year or two. Rumor has it that it will be a Cummins

HEAVY-DUTY PICKUP PLANS HALTED
Both Nissan and Toyota say they have ceased plans to enter the heavy-duty market.

Dodge has a contract with Cummins thru 2011 or 2012 so there is no possible way they could have anything to do with the Toy pickup.

Though here was their concept entry...
PickupTruck.Com - SEMA 2007 - Toyota Tundra Dually Diesel Concept

As a concept, it appears to be behind the current stuff GM already offers performancewise...

+1

A Toyota-loving friend sent that to me yesterday, and I wasn't real impressed.
