I'd definitely agree with you on that very sound advice! Thanks!

Heck, even though it's nothing special, I'll try to take a pic or two today and post. It is in pretty darn good shape for a 2000 model. I guess I'm used to looking at and appraising SuperDuty trucks that have been actually used as work trucks.

I have been curious, Mopar dropped their big V10, offer the Cummins and the Hemi.

I have wondered how that V10 would have stacked up against the Ford V10, and how it compared to the 5.7l Hemi as a "truck" engine?

I knew someone 10 years ago that had one in a Ram2500 2wd long bed xcab. They loved it; pulled a 34' 5th wheel with a couple slideouts.

They have been tested head to head before and in most tests I read, usually the V-10 comes out a little ahead. The Dodge V-10 is a big displacement motor.

I like the GM 8.1L better than either, but that one's toast, too. The 8.1's suffered from some knocking problems, too.

My guess is the V-10 dies this summer unless Ford has trouble getting the 6.2L Boss ready on time.

Well, I finished all of the maintenance...finally. Here is what the old Excursion looks like. It seems pretty straight and has not had any body or paint work done to it.

Man, that was fast. Fluid changes, belts changed, plugs changed, washed vacuumed & waxed, lil armor-all to boot.

What did ja do, slap on the floodlights & work through the night?

Well....you caught me. In this picture you can see a couple of my barns in the background. One is a 60X60 and the other is an 80X120.

That is a real nice looking rig. Here's wishing you many years of use.

Dodge V10 8.0 litre 488 cubic inches. Chev 8.1 V8 496 cubes. Ford V10 6.8 litre 415 cubic inches. Size for size, the little Ford stacks up pretty well compared to the other two goliathes. Dargo, that is one nice excursion, looks to be about as clean as they come.

We had one in the company fleet Dargo. V-10, 4wd. It was just like driving a F250 crew cab except.... a crosswind would make it pretty snaky with all the side surface area. We replaced it with a V8 and my brother who drives it says it sucks for power. Congrats on the purchaes. Nice lookin ride.

We have one foreman with Dodge 250 V-10. Bought it new in 95, still has it running although interior cab is getting a bit worn. Runs like a champ at over 250,000 miles.

I think both the Dodge & GM engines are pushrod and the Ford is OHC.
