Yes that is correct

The Mopar V10 must have been pushrod. In posing the question, I understand it is an older, discontinued in trucks in trucks motor(not counting the Ram1500 SRT-10).

I would guess at it having a better torque curve than the 5.7l Hemi; that's not really that big of a motor.

I had a Hemi 2500 4x4 and yes it had decent power but I was not impressed. It pulled no better than any others gas V8's of comparable displacement. It was a gas hog to boot.

My buddy that had a Dodge V-10 with the supercharger traded it on a '99 PSD with a 7.3L powerstroke and said the Ford pulled better, but wasn't as fast.

To answer your question, I know of nothing in particular to look for with the V-10. I've got almost 100,000 miles on my '99 F250 and it has no engine related issues. For that matter, no other issues either. It's just a good, old truck that does well what it was designed to do. It doesn't get great mileage, but who would expect it to? It does get better than 15 mpg empty though and when towing it tows whatever I hook it to. I've used diesel powered trucks to tow with and am impressed with the torque which I am sure is better than my truck, but they are a pain on the road because diesel fuel is not as friendly to find and buy as is gasoline. Their noise doesn't much bother me so that isn't a buying decision for me. Their upkeep is though. From simple things like oil changes to more complicated things like the injector pump, I'd rather have the V-10 as long as it continues to perform like mine has. By the way; I've never found an owner with the 5.4 liter in a similar truck who gets better mileage than I do. It seems they have to work harder to do the job, and use more gasoline because of it.

I think you'll be happy with your V-10 Dargo as I'm happy with my 1999 F-250 super-cab long bed 4x4 with the V-10, 5-speed manual and 4.31 limited slip rear end. I average 13.5 MPG with it. The truck does what I want it to, and I expected 10 MPG when I bought it, so 13+ is all gravy to me.

They have - at Ford it's called "X-Plan." $200 under dealer invoice, and you get whatever incentives are available. My '07 F350 King Ranch, crewcab, dually 4x4, diesel, with the Tow Boss Package, power rear window, upfitter switches, etc. etc. --- $43,650 out the door including TTL. Sticker was right at $54K.

You should be able to buy any vehicle from an American car manufacturer for dealer invoice if not less. They have "holdback" on the vehicle which is a rebate from the manufacturer to the dealer equal to 5% of the MSRP. You can't get into their holdback, but you should be able to get them down to invoice or 1% above invoice.

GM has the equivalent of X-Plan. You just have to know what's available - it's called "smart shopping."

I'm quite aware of how the game is played, but if you think the final sale price is the only way the stealer has to screw you out of money, you're quite naive.

Actually, with domestic franchises it is more like 3% of MSRP before any destination charge; not that it really matters.
