Default John Deere 4x20 trailer

Hello all

I need to know what you all think of trailering a JD 4x20 series tractor on a 7000lb trailer?? The tractor supposedly weighs 3700lbs. It will have the possibilty of having the 400x loader and 73HD bucket installed at times. I also may have a Frontier RC1072 installed. It looks to me like I may be pushing my luck hauling all this. What combination if any would work with the 7K trailer?? I really do not want to buy another trailer right now.

John

I wouldn't do it. A 3000 series with the attachments you mentioned would be pushing it (never mind a 4000) for a 7k trailer. If you were going a few miles on flat land I would be tempted but for any distance your going to need a 10k trailer. Not to sound condisending but skinmping on gvw of a trailer is just dangerous. Not just for you but everyone you share the road with.

I used to haul stuff on my old 7,000lb trailer that should have been criminal. I hauled Farmall H's on several occasions. I once hauled a car and a skid steer from Wisconsin to my home in Ohio. And I even hauled several times my 5400Deere that weighs 7500lbs without the bucket attached.
I fixed that problem with the addition of a new 14K deck over.

VERY nice trailer. Mind if I ask what it ran and what's the axle rating?

It has 2 7K axles (total 14K) and it was $3750.00

WOW!!! That sounds very reasonable for a 7ton trailer.

It was the cheapest I found in central IL but luckily only 15 minutes away from home!!! Great bunch of people down there. If anyone is in the area needing a trailer let me know. I am sure they would love to talk to you.
