Default MY new TUNDRA

Ive been away for a bit, thought id show you my new truck for towing my toys. Its a 08 TOYOTA TUNDRA 4 wheel drive 5.7 WITH THE 6 SPEED TRANNY.Igot it in febuary,i absolutely LOVE IT. As a FORD lover,i tryed out the f150s and they were nice, but didnt seem to have as much room in the back.Ichecked out others, but i absolutely fell in love with the TUNDRA.
Icant get over the HORSE POWER,I have trouble containing myself at a traffic light.I love the sound of this rig taking off,im worse than a kid
The dealer said id get 15 mpg in the winter and better in the summer. This was true, until the last month im getting 19 every time ,and im not easy on it either.Ithink these 6 speeds are great for gas mileage!!
In trying to give a good honest review of the truck, its hard to find things to complain about. The seat belt alarm is a pain if someone wont buckle[it wont stop] My wife hates the auto door locks[makes her feel trapped]The 18 inch tires are pricy[hope they become more common]
OVER all the whole family loves the truck, would rather take it than the jeep or the suburu.
ALAN

Love their trucks.... just can't justify that much cash. Forty to fifty grand isn't uncommon for the final tally. I will just have to wear out my Chevrolet !!

I got the CrewMax last March and now have over 30K miles on her. It's a great truck and I've had zero problems.

Is it a 2 or 4 wheel drive. If 4, then I think you got a great deal. Congrats on the nice rig.

My brother has one, and loves his also. His F-150 only managed 14 or so, even on the highway. He claimed his Tundra was getting approximately 20 ..... right in line with what you are getting.

I bought my double cab last July and love it.Traded my '05 Ford Stupidcrew Lariat for it.Just amazes me every time I hook up to the 8,000 to 8,500# trailer.Yanks it without a groan;the Ford hated that trailer. 400lb/ft of torque with those 4:30 gears is a wonderful combination.I too get better than 19mpg on the interstate, empty, and 12 to 12.5mpg towing the trailer.I took a couple sno-mobile trips up north to the county,370 miles one way,and with 4 people in the truck, gear for four, two of which were women and a double clamshell trailer with two long track sleds and averaged over 14mpg both trips.I would recommend anyone give these a hard look if they need an occasional hauler

Too many other random attachments to list (or to own, per my gf) and a really bad tool addiction. But at least I haven't bought a dump truck or bulldozer. Yet.
