In these circumstances, I'd tell them to move when I could help if you want the trailor. And remind her that it got damaged last time. Period.
I'm told I'm rather blunt sometimes.

I also feel if you need to borrow something more than 2 times, it is time you got your own. |

Sometimes if your insurance agent is a good guy you can ask him to tell you that you can't lend out your vehicles and he will. Then you can tell folks truthfully that the insurance company won't let you lend your vehicle out. We all know that there is no use arguing with the insurance company.

I would simply tell the truth and not make excuses or lie. You will not loan the trailer because they can't be trusted. The trailer is only insured by the vehicle it is being towed by. It you loan both your truck and trailer you are then completely liable for any and all actions of the operator. Your safest bet is to pay a responsible operator to assist in their move or pay for their U-Haul.

I bet everyone who said "no" borrowed tools from their dad as kids, teens, and older...as I did and lost them. My problem was leaving them in the yard, in the grass to be found months later. Or leaving them where we were building a "fort". I bet yall also borrowed their car now and then, maybe before you had your own car.
Wonder what would have happened if your parents said NO all the time. I'm glad mine didn't, we're family! IMO a lot different than a friend or neighbor. Food for thought.

You hit it right on the head, RobJ. We all were kids who needed and especially with the point that family is much different from friends. But, it appears from this thread that it's all just about orders of priorities, which I guess is off topic for a tractor forum.

I did that as a kid . My dad would usually find them - with the lawnmower...I'd loan out the trailer if it was me. If they beat it up, fix it. It's your family FCOL...and it's only a trailer...
