Sort of OT, but sort of not. My wife just bought a horse trailer with electric brakes. Her old trailer has electric brakes, and they work. When we plug in the "new" trailer the brakes lock up. Also, the indicator light on the controller doesn't light up at all with the new trailer plugged in, but works with the old trailer plugged in. She's hauling 4-5 horses, so the brakes matter.
The controller doesn't like something in the new trailer, got any tips on what to look for? There's only one wire going to the brakes isn't there? When I test the pin on the truck recepticle it's hot, 12 volts with nothing plugged in. Plug in the new trailer, the wheels are locked up and no indicator light on the controller. Plug in the old trailer and the brakes are controlled by the controller and the indicator light works, goes from green to red as I push the brake pedal.
I mow her pasteur with our NH TC30, now we're on topic
