Default F250 2008 V10 Pricing

I am in the market for new pickup. F250 CC 4x4 XLT Long Bed. I have finally found a dealer with not one, but 5 that meet my needs. There are quoting employee pricing plus $2000 off that in rebate.

MSRP: $ 41,395.00 Price before tax, title, etc. $ 34,807.00.

With 5 on the lot I am thinking they should sweeten the pot a bit. Color is not that important to me and 4 of the 5 are loaded exactly the same way, so the price above will be the same unless incentives change. I am thinking about watching his inventory for another month or two as the 09s come in to try for a better deal.

Opinions?

Why not pick up a 2-3 year old F250 or F350 for about 20 to 25 thousand. You will be surprised how little used trucks are bringing right now. If I were a GM man my cousin had a 2005 Yukon XL loaded, leather, DVD, 4 wheel drive, new tires, 68K. Sold it for $13,995. Get the diesel then you will have the best of both worlds, power and economy.

Price does not sound too bad to me. I bought a 08 F350 XL 2WD with V10 with a few options for 24K in Nov 07--without TTL. Had pretty good rebate package. You are getting the XLT and 4Wd which of course adds quite a bit to my stripped down version but for another 10K, seems like a fair deal.

Did not want the diesel and am very happy with the V10 for my purposes. The other poster has a good point about the used one with a diesel, but that may not be what you want.

We buy a new pickup every 3 years at work if $ allow. I drive the new one and my old one becomes our shop vehicle that my brother drives when he needs a truck. Our 03 350 only has approx. 90k miles, and usually one of our foreman buys that truck. Helps keep depreciation scheduling fairly regular.
