Per Steven: "I have a tekonsha prodigy brake controller and it works very good and can be moved to other vehicles if needed it has quick disconnects for wires and bracket mount. "

I second what Steven said. Easy for a novice to use and adjustments are simple. Expensive but worth it based on my experience using on a 2000 mile trip pulling 6000 lbs.

Golfgar,

I have a dump truck I've been real happy to have. It's an old municipal truck I bought as part of a package from an area county's highway department. It's a 1990 Ford F-Super Duty with a 460 V-8 and automatic transmission. Today the same truck would be labeled as a Ford F-450 as it is a full class 4 truck.

Mine has an 8' Peabody Gallion contractor's bed with full cab protection and a hydraulic hoist. It also has an 8' Western power angle snow plow and full hydraulics for a salt spreader or whatever you'd like to hook up in the rear. There's also a two way pintle hitch on the rear which has a 2 5/16" ball. I put some wood sides on it and can still load it from the side with my FEL.

I recently knocked the rust off the bed and replaced some metal there and gave it a fresh coat of that lovely municipal orange paint. I'm probably going to do the cab this fall. I'm not looking to make it fancy. I just want it to last because it's been a great old truck for me to have around my property. I'm not sure it's one you really want to see a picture of, though.
