From 7,000 to 14,000 pound gooseneck trailer!

Here is how I went from a bumper-pull trailer to a gooseneck.

I let a cousin in-law borrow my trailer to haul a car and yes sir he wrecked, bent the tongue both axles, the aluminum tongue box was destroyed, the 5500 lb. winch was damaged, and 4 runners were torn from under the trailer, yes sir he did the incredible. "He said a tractor-trailer blew by him and the wind forced him off the road." But anyway he went off the road jack-knifed flipped over a guard rail and the trailer ended up on top of the guard rail. First thank God no one got hurt, but the trooper said that he had to be traveling pretty fast for the trailer to make it up on top of the rail, I agree. And to top the story off that was last October and he still havent replaced my trailer, so I pinched some pennies and purchased a 20 foot flat bed gooseneck.

Here is the 20 foot gooseneck before dove-tail, platform, stabilizer, diesel tank, and new lights were added.

I know but I have a GMC diesel commerical box truck that we are converting to a flatbed, its rated at a ton and a half, that should handle it.

My old trailer (yeah the wrecked one) it was pretty nice 2 foot dovetail, chrome wheels, aluminum tongue box, winch and fresh paint, so you know on this deal i had to make it as nice or better. The bright safety red paint is an eye opener, the bright led lights are cool, and the DOT reflectors really help. Everyone that has seen the trailer in my yard says its so nice now, why would you go thru all that for a trailer, I replied "WHEN YOU ARE A PROFESSIONAL YOU MUST LOOK LIKE ONE, A WELL MAINTAINED PIECE OF EQUIPMENT SAYS ALOT", but my daugther says it is too pretty to haul stuff on, I PROVED HER WRONG!

I let a buddy borrow my 16' car hauler to head out of state to pick up his broke down full sized van.. he was towing with a gmc sierra half ton. I was uneasy about the laod and haul vehicle.. but let him have it. I also made out a bill of sale and gave it to him already signed. i told him if he was in a wreck to make sure he told the trooper and his insurance carrier it was with his new-to-him trailer, and not bother calling me till all the liability was worked out.

he made it home fine at 45mph..

Yes sir Mr. Soundguy, I wish I had hauled it myself, I have hauled some impossibles before, but you have to know what your doing, :thumbsup:
