bought a 09 Ram 1500 4x4
It is a TRX4 5.7 Hemi with 3.92 gears and limited slip rear. It is very tight and pretty fast. With the gearing it has gobs of power at all rpm ranges.
It needs a backup camera bad and the headlights seem a little weak but other than that its perfect for me.
I will occasionally tow a 18ft landscape trailer (which I don't have yet)with my B2920 so this should be way more truck than I will ever need. I will post a pic laterB2920 TLB, turfs and loaded ags, thumb, 60 & 50" QA buckets, Kubota QA forks, toothbar, BX42 chipper, 60" front hydro blade and hitch, Herd M96 spreader, turf vent 48" 3pt aerator, Woods LRC 60" rake and Woods 48" estate BB, County Line 60" rear blade, rear spacers, pats easy change. Polaris 800 w/60" Blizzard plow & John Deere 717a ZTR

Congratulations on your purchase. Dodge definitely knows how to make a good looking truck, we'll look forward to seeing some pictures. Enjoy your new ride.

Re: bought a 09 Ram 1500 4x4
I like everything about the 03 and up dodge rams except the mileage

We had an 03 1500 with the off road package. 13-14MPG at best and that was going easy.
I heard the new ones are supposed to be pushing 20mpg's. You may not do quite that good with the gears, but I would like to know what you average in the near future.".........there is only one way to find out."

My son has an '07 with the hemi. Have you held your foot on the gas and watched the overhead readout?
He hates it when I do, says i'm wasting his gas
. He just hasn't caught on yet why I'm grinning the whole time. A) I like the acceleration in his truck B) I like listening to him whine about me blowing his money (coming from the 26 year old, living at home, rent free)

Re: bought a 09 Ram 1500 4x4
Very Nice!

I like the two tone color, hands down the best looking trucks. That's the "crew" cab vs the "quad" cab right? Those rear doors look huge. 390hp/407lb.ft with 3.92 gears must be one heck of a fun ride.
Since the introduction of the MDS on the HEMI (which shuts down up to 4 cylinders when not accelerating), fuel mileage greatly increased. I've seen people on other forums getting 18-20mpg unloaded on the highway and 16-18 in the city with that setup. I average about 3-5 mpg less than that with my 2003 RAM 1500.Derek

Re: bought a 09 Ram 1500 4x4
Very nice. I just traded off a 07 Ram 1500 Quad Cab, 4x4 with the hemi and 3.92 gears. I rarely reset the trip computer, and more often than not it showed about 12-13 mpg. This was a lot of in town driving and rural driving mixed together. I once reset it when I did some highway driving, it was a cool day so no air conditioning, I set the cruise at 60, and it was calm with no wind, and it hauled down something like 21 mpg. Drive them gently, and you can get pretty decent mileage.
