Biggest boat for 1500 ram?

sorry for the general question - just starting to think about a boat!

09 5.7 hemi 4x4 tow pkg 3.92 gears, oil and tran coolers, rated at 10k


What is the biggest boat I can safely tow to come in at 10k or less? if its a 7k boat does that put me at a sea ray 28 sundeck or 26 ft sundancer ? anyone have a similar situation and recommendation or advice?

any help would be appreciated!

I pull a 2007 Larson Cabrio 260 Cruiser with my 08 Nissan Titan 4x4. The boat I had weighed on the trailer and its right at 9,680# with 1/3 tank of fuel and 1/2 tank of water. I have pulled this load about 1,500 miles since May and averaged right at 9.5 mpg.

One thing I will tell you for sure owning 3 boats and have owned well over a dozen is the manufactures lie. Every boat I have weighed is more than they state it is by as much as 25%. I picked up my brand new 2003 Wellcraft Mystique 2800 on a tri-axle Eagle trailer. I was told it weighed 12,500# There was a scale 3 miles from the marina and I weighed the truck, picked up the boat, then went back and weighed it all again and did the math. Fuel was at 5 gallons, no water, no gear it was 14,600#. I weighed it again the next week on the way to the lake with gear, fuel, and water and it was a tad over 15,600#, a far cry from the 12,500# I was told.

By the way one of my customers has the same truck you do but I believe its a 08. He pulls 2006 Rinker 270 Fiesta Vee with it on a tri-axle Trailmaster Trailer.
