Ever Line-X a trailer?

Check the net for DIY kits that are sprayed on, not rolled.$200 on ebay for a kit with the spray gun. Lots of guys around here do it. No special tools other than a calm day, compressor, masking tape, and plenty of prep time.

There are tons of YouTube vids showing guys doing it to everything from trucks to boats.

Chris.

Last Spring I bought a 7x12 lawncare trailer off CL that had been Rhinolined. At first I didnt like it, it looked beatup cause of the rough texture, but now I like it. I think the black color fades a bit over time so your stuck with a flat black finish. Im sure it could be painted over. Dirt is not really a problem.

Reading this thread made me remember the liner I purchased at a Goodwill store last year for my 6X12 aluminum utility trailer, the brand is a PendaLiner and it was made for a full size 8 foot box Ford truck. I would LOVE to find a second one that matches this so I could have a full length liner (by installing the second one backwards) for my trailer. ESPECIALLY if I could find one for the TEN BUCKS this one was priced at. The store wanted to get rid of it and I was so happy to help....

Ive had my car trailer 18ft carson trailer herculined for about 2 yrs and it sits in the sun quite a bit. After loads of lumber, cars it still looks decent. I paid 75 bucks for a gallon and brushes and roller at Kragens. It weighs about 5 lbs for the gallon

I had thought about line x for our flat bed trailer also. When I saw this post I called our local dealer, he said if it goes on wood it wouldn't have the lifetime warranty. One thing I have done in the past is to buy shop floor paint, and put the little floor grit in the paint. It looks really nice, and I guess it adds a little slip resistance.

If I were you I'd take a look at POR-15 before I used bed liner.

Line-X wanted $2100 to do our new 24" enclosed trailer. 3 cans of bedliner from WalMart about $150. Wasn't hard to chose. Been rough on it for bout a year now, haven't found one bad spot yet.

I hadn't thought about the weight. I know the liner in my work truck is only about 1/8" thick, and I know that because it's peeling out. It looks like the shop that put it in didn't do any prep work at all, just sprayed. The paint is nice and smooth and shiny in the peeled areas, but that's a story for another time. Suffice to say, if I do have my trailer coated I'll be using a different shop.

I don't intend to have the floor sprayed with liner. I plan on removing the floor and having only the frame done. If it changes the weight 100 pounds or so I'm not terribly worried about it.

If it's linex it should have a lifetime warranty.

Well, I haven't forgotten about this. I talked to the Line X shop I want to use, and emailed them some pictures of the trailer. I need to contact a sandblaster also to find out what it would cost to have the trailer stripped before having it lined.

I'm not sure what I'll end up doing yet, have to get a quote from the Line X folks and the sandblaster, then weigh that against the other options, either paint or one of the do it yourself liners.
