Seems used truck prices are everywhere nowadays, thought I'd pass one by ya'll. Looking at 1997 F350 SRW crew cab 4X4 XLT, 7.3 powerstroke, auto tranny, 123k miles, single owner, mostly personal/farm use, very clean, no rust, bone stock. Not many of these trucks around that are one-owner and not too many miles. What kind of figure sounds reasonable here?

I have no clue but $15,000 would not surprise me.

I sold a 1997 crew cab xlt 4x4 auto 120k, almost perfect condition. Pulled a 34' airstream less than 10k miles, other than that all empty miles. One owner, that was meticulously maintained. for 13,750.00 in late 2007, or early 2008. The truck had an original sticker price of 37k, was bought new for 30k, and sold 10 years later for almost 50% of original purchase price. I was pleased, and the buyer was pleased.

Here is a pic of the truck I sold.

Here we are four years later, and I think 11k might be on the high side, but if it's what you want, what's the difference in a couple grand in the big picture.

A little different scenario, but something to chew on.
I just purchased a 1999 Dodge 4x4 dually, loaded with Ranch Hand front and rear bumpers, steps, spray liner for $6100.00, the seller was asking 9800.00... Maybe you can offer 8-9k on the truck you are looking at, and see if they bite.

I agree that 11K may be a bit high, but if it is clean... go for it. has the tranny been done? That is the weak spot on those trucks.

I would say around 8 to 9K is more like it..problem is diesel is more then gas since 2002..I would not own one again.

Yeah but that old 7.3 will run all day on heating oil (when the chit hits the fan)

Price some newer F-350s for comparison. Around here, you can find 99+ Super Duty trucks around 10 or 11,000.

If you really like the truck, seems like 8 or 9,000 probably wouldn't be too outrageous. Still a bit high in my opinion, but it is one owner and low miles.

Sounds like a good price, seen one on dealers sell for $19,000 out the door. If its good truck you will be glad u bought it, I would hate to count how many 7.3 trucks I have had.

my S.I.L. bought one about a year ago for 5500.... we had to do some minor work on it.. but nothing serious.
