hello... i did not know exactly ? where to ask this question...

but .. im needing to haul a lot of lime, i have a spreader truck.. a two ton, GMC,

with a lime bed..

i also own a peterbuilt semi...

soooo ? im looking at an older 32' foot belly dump trailer.. will a belly dump trailer work for hauling AG lime ?

i know a hopper bottom wont work.. and i have no pump on my semi..

the belly dump has air gates on the bottom.

will the lime come out ok ?

thanks.

While a belly dump trailer might let the ag lime out of the bottom, where is it going to go? You will have to drag the rear axles over it and spread it out in a line packing it down. By far the best dump trailer for this would be an end dump. this would allow you to pile the lime until it is used.

Just guessing you are going to use a tractor to load the lime into your spreader. If it is in lines and not in piles, it will be a hole lot harder to bucket and load with a lot more waste. You might try to find an end dump with a walking floor.
