Agree with Crazyal that Toyota did step up on the frame rust issue but they had leverage, I'm sure, with Dana who caused the issue so who knows how much Dana paid versus Toyota. I wonder how they would have handled it were it all on their dime. Not complaining as they bought my '99 Tacoma from me for 150% of Kelly Blue Book value, just pointing out they got to play with someone else's money for some of the cost.

I have a 08 double cab tacoma...love it especially when you pull out a full size that is stuck in your driveway. I pull a TA 6x14 cargo trailer full of tools. It works hard 2600rpm at 110km and drinks the fuel but is capable. Has no problem with the weight but rather the wind resistance at higher speeds. Wish Toyota would offer a diesel engine...

My 2001 TRD 4x4 V6 5spd extended cab has over 210 thousand now and last year they put a new frame under it. Toyota paid for this truck after buying my 99 due to frame rust. I will have to replace factory clutch this year. The old girl is holding up great, won't use a drop of oil between oil changes. The fuel mileage could be better though, it peaks at 20.5 mpg getting that at @72 mph. Most of my time is spent on the freeway. I run load range E tires on the rear and it handles 3/4- 1 ton in the box without trouble.
