Thinking I might be buying a Duramax soon

So I decided to hold off for now. I did a little thinking and looked a little deeper at some numbers and while the deal was very good, it wasn't the knock your socks off deal that I thought I was getting. In the end I just wasn't in love with the DMax truck enough right NOW to want to take the hit that I was ultimately taking on my current ride. Add to this my uncle just bought a 2012 Ram 3500 Mega Cab Laramie Dually CTD after I suggested he look at the specs on the upcoming 2013's and I am really loving the mega cab. So right now I'm quite torn. I love the looks of the Ram, who doesn't love the Cummins Engine, the Aisin tranny appears to be a winner and I'm loving the space of the mega cab. Plus 2014 GM's will be coming out soon in the HD variants and maybe they'll blow my socks off. So for now I've decided to wait. I may pay more in the long run but I have a greater chance of being satisfied for the long haul and not wanting to trade so quickly. Just figured I'd keep everyone updated.

If you like the 2013 Ram you will be head over heels for the 2014 from what I am reading. I would hold off.

I think the Ram you may be thinking of is the 2013. I know it's already 2013 but the first 2013 Ram 3500 diesel actually just hit the assembly line yesterday. The 2013 models are the first ones that have the Aisin transmissions, the DEF, the stronger frame, etc. They probably should have been called 2014's but technically they are 2013's. And I totally believe that they will be worth the wait.

Of course I could be wrong and I may be missing out on some information.

Maybe. I know I have read its going to be a step above the current trucks. I could have sworn it was a 14 though.

I actually think my 2012 Ford F350 with it's 6.7l PowerStroke turbodiesel is very sexy and it is one of the nicest riding trucks IMO! Here it is in the showroom when I picked it out last February and here it is on our "overgrown" property :) The only thing I regret is the color....I swore I would NEVER own a black vehicle again but they didn't have another color available with the options I wanted so I compromised. Holding off will definitely be worth it with these new trucks coming.
My next truck will certainly be a Mega Cab RAM with the Rambox. Just need to decide on gas vs diesel. Those mega cabs are incredible inside.

The combination of the looks of the Ram with the Mega Cab and Rambox, with the availability of the Cummins and an Aisin transmission. Will a hemi do the job? For most people yes, but in my opinion combining those looks with that available power train and instead opting for the hemi would be like Superman taking the bus instead of flying. For me I could get by without a diesel and have been doing so, but just like a sports car is a want for some, for me that diesel is a definite want. I really can't wait to take a new one for a test drive.

If they put the 6.4 Hemi in the 3/4 & 1ton trucks then good luck choosing between that and a Cummins! I know I wouldn't want to have to make that tough choice! :)

With 395hp/407lb.ft., the HEMI would certainly get it done but a 450HP/550lb.ft. 6.4l HEMI would be great too!

For my use (12-14k max towing), a 3/4 ton HEMI would be perfect.
