A guy that goes to Church with my Mother-In-Law has a 2006 6.0 PSD, crew cab, FX4, SRW, Lariat with 8' bed for sale. It has 130,000 miles on it. Most people don't like the 8' bed cuz its so long, but I prefer it. How many would buy this truck for $17,000 if you knew and trusted the owner? My dad has a 2006 6.0 PSD with about 80k miles on it with no issues. My understanding is that the 2006 and 2007 models 6.0's were much better than the earilier models.

I had the same truck. It was trouble free for the 85k miles I put on it. I sold it for 24k in 2011.

I would not just because of the bed length. Won't fit in my garage. The 6.0 does not scare me one bit. I have two that were trouble free. Still have my 06 F350 srw 4x4 with 8X, XXX miles and no issues.

A six-uh-oh, not for me. Sorry, someone had to bash a Ford and get the ball rolling.

All joking aside, 17k seems very fair. In my area, if it was a D-max or a Cummins, it would be worth closer to 25k.

im the opposite of that, won't buy a truck without and 8 foot bed.. makes home improvement projects much easier

That's why they make all sorts. That way we are all happy.

If the truck looks good, I'd say that's a good deal. It leaves a bit of money on the table for repairs if needed.

I was under the impression that the 6.0 was the one to avoid, but after working with a drilling contractor that has a fleet of them, I have new respect. These trucks are beaten unmercifully on a daily basis with hundreds of thousands of miles without major issues.
