Your F350 shouldn't have any trouble with that weight if properly trailered. I'd over rate on the trailer and go with at least a 14K gooseneck at 20'. Make sure you have a good brake controller installed to actuate the trailer brakes and plenty of chains and you'll be fine. You're going to burn a lot of gas but I suspect you know that already.

I routinely haul a 12K# tractor with my F250 6.0 with no issues.

12k and 20 ft for a bumper pull or 14k and 24' for a gooseneck....brakes on at least one axle.
anything shorter than 20' with a FEL and implement usually leaves a good bit hanging off the back. My L4600 with FEL and rotary cutter hangs off the back of my 18 ft trailer a good bit.
2500 chevy hauls that combo pretty well so yours should have no problem.

A 10k 16' trailer would probably be OK but if you can swing it I would jump up to 12k just because you'll drop from being at about 90% of the limit of the trailer to about 75%. I would also agree 20' to 22' will give you more room for the backhoe and any other future attachments and to adjust tongue weight.

I tow a Kubota L35 TLB 6,500# with loaded tires on an a Big Tex 18ft 10,000# equipment bumper pull trailer with a Ford F350 Diesel dual trailer brakes and an equalizer hitch to meet the hitch limits on the F350. Your gasser is pobably limited to 10,500# with 1000 on the hitch with and equalizer hitch, otherwise its 5000# and 500# on the hitch unless you go gooseneck. Also remember, the bigger the trailer, the heavier it is so don't exceed the max trailer capacity of your vehicle. In order to get the proper balance on an 18 ft trailer, I back the TLB which is 19 ft long onto the trailer. This allows me to lower the backhoe bucket onto the front railing (I made up a heavy wood block block that fits over the front rail and rests on the hitch frame and the backhoe is lowered onto this) and the FEL bucket is lowered onto the rear of the trailer without hanging over. I pulled with this arrangement from Calgary AB to Vancouver Island some 500+ miles over 3 mountain passes, no sweat and legal. Make sure that you use Grade 70 tiedown chains on all four corners of the tractor. Straps are okay for the hoe and FEL bucket (chains are better) as all attached implements must also be secured to the trailer while in transit. I hope this helps.

really, a 14k gooseneck for a 7k tractor??!! talk about overkill and over spending someone elses money. a 10-12k bumper pull trailer with brakes on both axles would be more than enough and 100% safe.

hes also pulling with a 5.4--not exactly a power house, but it is reliable. he doesn't need any more trailer than necessary with that little engine. not sure why "I routinely haul a 12K# tractor with my F250 6.0 with no issues" is relevant at all to this thread; he has an f350, a gas 5.4, and a 7k tractor.

I use a 12k 20 foot trailer that weighs 2900 lbs to haul my L3540. Bumper pull. I don't have a backhoe but do have loaded tires that add a bit over 1000 lbs extra weight.

The trailer handles it fine. I got that over the 10k because of the 16 inch wheels on it. Really I'd like to have 2 more feet.

Trailers can get small fast so I'd say at least 20'. My trailer is 20+4 and it allows me to adjust the Kubota/backhoe exactly how I want it.

I like gooseneck trailers. I think they tow better. But I would only recommend one if a person is going to tow often. Otherwise save the money and get a bumper pull. A F350 (even with a 5.4) will pull 10k with no problems. I bet it's rated to 13k (or more). You may need to upgrade the receiver to a 2 1/2" but 2" weight distributing hitch would work fine with a 12k trailer and the tractor combo listed.

At least 20'. Mine is a 10k 16' and it is barely adequate for my Kubota GL with FEL. You also said backhoe, if I read it right. 20' will even be tight with that, I bet. I would look for 20-24' and 10-14k, but you will be power limited on how much weight you can actually pull. I have basically the same truck and engine, and have no problems towing my tractor, but you do need to be very generous with the throttle for starting up and going up hills. You may be low on your weight estimate, especially with the backhoe. I was pushing 8000-8500 lbs, total with my old L3130 (including trailer) with the FEL and something on the 3pt (box blade or winch that didn't stick out too far). The new L5240 will be a few hundred pounds heavier too. So in your case, a 10k trailer may be overloaded, or very close at least.
