Just picked up my 2014 ram 3500 srw crew cab with the 6.4 hemi. I have a little under 300mi on her, and still going easy on her. Very impressed with tbe power.
More low end grunt than my GMC 6.0. Hooked on to a 12k trailer with a mini ex, and this thing handled it great.

Smart move going with the 3500 SRW vs a 2500. What gears and does it have a 6 speed or 8 speed tranny? Any mpg # yet? I had a 2003 2500 Hemi and it never broke 12 mpg with 3.92 gears and the old 4 speed auto. 7.5 to 8 towing.

I opted for tbe 3.73 gears. It has a 6 speed tranny. I dont tow heavy very often, so these will work for me. Computer is showing 13.4. That's combine hiway and local roads with about 30 miles of towing 12k.

Check that computer. I found my dodge had a optimistic computer. If it's really getting 13.4 that's not bad for a Hemi.

My grandfather told me when I bought my Hemi, he owned a Chrysler/Jeep dealership for 40 years and now that he has passed his brother owns it so no bashing here, that "Hemi was a Indian word for fill this mother _________er up again".

It will be interesting to hear your numbers. Both my trucks are getting at the point for me to trade. I currently have a gas and diesel and thinking about going back to just one. I am tempted to go 1 ton SRW 4x4 gas as you did.

The 8 speed is not available in the 2500/3500 trucks. I know a few owners of these trucks and they are returning very respectable mileage. Similar averages to what you are seeing.

Keep us posted on the MPG. I have an '09 2500 Cummins and I don't tow often. I get 16/19 mpg,
It's a Quad cab and I'd like to get a Mega Cab with 6.4L.

Not sure if you realize but for some reason ram detuned the 6.4 for the mega cabs. Somewhere around 40 hp and tq less.
