Living and boating in the salt, I consider BB's a staple of "Us" trailer/boating guys here on the NE coast. So instinctively, decided the BB's, a great product, would automatically be a must on my Road Trailer rebuild for the tractor. Ah! Learned something new. I verified the information and experience shared from Wolf
pack2 and others, and guess what? Fact not opinion, the BB's with "Drum" style trailer brakes can be a problem. Now fast forward to guys here on the east coast/salt water boat trailer types, they have switched to Disk Brakes on the newer and bigger boat trailers. Thank You for the heads up! :thumbsup:

The thing I love most about this site. Everyone shares there successes and failures so we can all learn from one another and hopefully prevent a failure of our own.

The issue is not so much the BB but the seals. In my shop we only use double lip spring seals. The basic single lip seals do little more than keep the dust out.
