I figured Id throw a couple pictures up of my Steiners at work..these machines never stop working....the older one we took delivery of in april of 1989 brand new and is still in service today...broke 4 hr meters so far and probably has 11000-12000 hrs on it conservatively..
last pic is my dad mowing pulling the attachment i built..maxhine has a 6 ft Ventrac deck and pulling a 5 ft Steiner deck for a total of 10ft cut with overlap...
The 1st and 3rd pics were from last year..it was a bad week both Steiners down waiting on parts! We broke the RF axle mount for the lift.. a 6 ft deck and duals puts a lot of stress on it...old steiner is waiting for a new hose so i dropped the front axle and went thru the hydraulic motor ..wasnt in bad shape for never being touched....i resurfaced everything and put new
bearings in as PM...
2nd pic was what happens when an operator gets lazy and goes to far off edge...pic doesn't do it justice its very steep..

The first one is another pic of the slide off the teebox.
Last is a picture of the hydraulic motors end plate... when you lose performance and lift/ steering in a Ventrac/ Steiner this is usually why... contamination wears grooves in it and you leak pressure past the motor and pump...
Middle is the 25 kohler getting head gaskets last spring... the engine was on service 11yrs and approximately 4500 hours..this is the first time its been touched... not bad for an air cooled engine that pulls 1-3 mowers behind it for 20 plus weeks a year for 16-20 hrs a week...it is still going strong today..we run Shaeffers x7000 and x9000 diesel oil in all our machines and they give us phenominal service life. I wish we had got the kubota gas LC engines but I didnt have a choice in what we got...If i could do it over,Id get all 4231 LC gas ventracs....

We run sawtooth golf cart 22x11x8s on the one Steiner ,this is so we can run the blower and drive the machine on the greens, tees, and aprons without damaging them. This saves a tremedous amount of time in the spring and fall. After working hard all summer,we run the blower from mid october until shutdown whenever the weather stops us....Our blower is the Steiner PB100...its noisey but has a very high RPM and wind speed.Running wide open with the blower is probably the hardest load the engines see,its a pretty big load especially when temps are still up there, they run hot...
The newer Steiner we run Carisle Field trax HD 22x11x8s,this machine had a 22 Kohler Command, which i removed after 3 years,as it was overloaded running the blower and pulling the mower while mowing was alot for it...we dropped in a 25HP which was a huge improvement(100cc) additional displacement makes a big torque difference,,the 22HP went on the buggy I built to drive the extra deck....I had previously had our old worn out 24HP Onan on there, and it did ok because it was just a 60" deck only...the 22 ran 9 more years before the camshaft snapped,it had over 4000hrs on it....

Here's 2 more from this week. One plowing with the slip scoop and the other moving my snow tires to the truck.
