Mark it's been ages since I did any 7018 open root welding. So this morning I grabbed some 4-inch sch 80 pipe. Placed a 1/16-inch land, and used a 5/64-inch drill bit for the gap. 3/32-inch 7018, DCEN at 60-amps. 5-G uphill. My tacks have a lot more reenforcement than the weld. Maybe because I make the tacks in the flat position, and gravity is helping more than it should.

The last picture is a 6-G I did years ago.

Guys, our 210 EXT PowerTIG is now fully in stock. Give me a call for VERY special pricing shipped. This is one of our best TIGs yet, and it also has excellent features for stick welding with hot start adjustment for time and intensity, as well as arc force control. It's a full digital TIG with gapless HF ignition. It has wave form control, a special additional pulse for AC and has been well received so far. Everything is adjustable in this unit.

Way to go Jake. Work with your air pressure, stand off and speed to improve dross. Have you got a separate air dryer?

I have a QC-3 on the line. Seems to work good, it gets obvious pretty quick when it needs a cartridge. I was surprised how fast it cut the 3/4", figured it would be a lot slower process. Have to get positioned so you can watch the stream too, wish I had more time to get good with it.. This is a mount for a winch I'm putting on the front of my Kioti. Plunge cutting the slot for the cable was on the rough(er) side, freehand, so I'm cleaning it up here.-purdy4-jpg

Regular price is 489.00 PLUS shipping. This amounts to over 50% off. Don't worry, price will resume normal after Christmas and stock will be replenished, but if you have been waiting for our best deal ever, this is it.

If you had bought itthrough me you would have received a 20% Thanksgiving/ Holiday discount for being on TBN.
But that is the nature of a sale. They aren't retroactive. But, please see the edit. The unit is actually the regular 160, which is a limited run
