- currently 2008 JD X540. Looking at a JD 2305.
So, I had my first issue with my virtually new Miller 211.
For those that are not familiar, you can plug into 230v or
115v.
I am in the process of restoring a very old Radio Flyer
coaster wagon, that is likely 50 years old or more.
Had some very minor welding that I had to do on the wagon,
which is very light weight steel.
I have always had the 211 plugged into the 220v outlet since
day one. Today, I set the dail on the welder to 24gauge steel.
I pull the trigger twice for to get a couple of spot welds. The
machine shuts off. I check the breaker in the service panel,
that was good. I go back to the machine and turn the power on,
nothing. I do this a couple of times.
I change the end of the power cord and plug into 115v. Works fine,
so I finish my welding on the wagon.
I change back to the 230v plug, nothing.
When I turn the power switch to on/off, I hear the relay inside the machine
click. I checked to make sure there was power at the outlet, that was good.
I called Miller and explained. They said that it sounded like a circuit board
problem. Had to take it to the closest Miller warranty repair to get repaired,
which is 25 miles away.
Anyone on here have any ideas what the problem is.
Works on 115v but not on 230v.
Problem came on instantly with no warning.
Have not had a problem with the machine until today.
