Default Miller XMT 304 any reviews?

Well I'm in the process of getting a new welder, I currently have a little Lincoln weldpack100 kind of wimpy and my big Lincoln weldandpower 225 but I dont want to take the time to hook up my LN-7 and then go deaf running the engine on the weldandpower all the time when I want to weld more than 1/8 or so. I saw a local auction has a miller XMT 304 with a 22b wire feed currently its at $250 but the auction does end on monday so it might go higher.

So any reviews on the XMT 304? I like that its CC/CV and rather small for a 300ish amp power supply and I can get away with a 50amp breaker. (or possibly I can get away with my 30amp line I have right now if I dont turn it up)

    So any thoughts?

And anybody know if there is and adapter for lincoln to miller tail ends I just got a spool gun for the weldpack and dont want to have to buy another.

Check out WeldingWeb and/or Miller Welding Discussion Forums for more information. Probably will get more user reviews and answers there.

I have read of several problems with the XMT-304s on Welding Web. Talked to a welding shop owner who said he had a lot of problems with the XMT-304 burning up boards a month or two out of warranty. Never heard a bad word about the XMT-350s.

I have two of them that I have had for about 6 years and have not had any trouble with them. We use them as stick welders for heavy machinery repairs/welding.

They used them a ton in the CC where I took classes. They work awesome, and they said they never have issues. I found one myself and love it. Realistically that combo will go for $1500+ unless nobody is watching that auction.

I think everyone watching the auction is a retard the xmt304 is at $275 now and the 22a wirefeed is at $500 I guess these mall ninjas believe the wirefeed is the 'welder'.

Some 304's had trouble when running on 3 phase but there are a bazillion out there. Miller did give away a ton of boards but they don't make the boards so the problem was with the company that makes boards for them. It's hit and miss on the 304's If you can get for under $1600 or so.Otherwise it may make sense to buy a 250 amp new and get a warranty.Read up on all the brands..The spoolgun will not cross over.

Good deal on the 304, so-so on the 22A. Too bad you missed it. They are awesome stick welders too.

Auctions make people do crazy things.

My brother used to run an auction on Saturday Nights.

We sold a bucket of rocks one night. The bucket had a hole in it and the rocks were from the creek.
