Mig Tip amp rating ?
Are all Mig Tips equal in regards to amp ratings ??
Why I ask , still have quite a few tips that I purchased for my Lincoln 135 , ( 110/120 volt welder ) and was wondering if they would also work on my new Longevity migweld 200 ( 220/240 welder ) ??
They fit as I already tried that last night when I installed a new liner , just wondering if tips are rated by amps or ??????????

Re: Mig Tip amp rating ?
I don't know for sure, but I think you'll find the tips are good for what ever the gun they fit is rated for. Back some time ago I was playing with some spray arc welding. The tips on my 200-amp Tweco gun got soft only after running several beads in a row at 200 + amps. But they still worked fine, I can't remember how I noticed the tips got soft.
I switched to my 400-amp Mig gun, no problems with the tips getting soft then.

Re: Mig Tip amp rating ?
Well my Lincoln tips from earlier purchase for my little Lincoln welder are working . Don't have the Longevity turned up , just welding 1/4" , but they seem to be fine .
Thank
