I recently upgraded from a jobsmart to a Hobart and the first time I decided to use shielding gas it wouldn't shut off after I stopped welding. Has anyone had this problem before?

Sounds like it could be a solenoid problem. Make sure all the wire connections are tight and if it still doesn't work, have a repair shop test it.

Could very well be that your valve is not closing all the way. I had a bad one on my new 252.

Open up your case and see if its a yellow valve. Mine was. Millers troubleshooting was to remove both wires off the valve and test for leaks. Apparently there is the possibility that the board can be bad and still output power to the valve when the trigger is closed. If it leaks when the wires are off, its a bad valve. Call Hobart, should be warranty.

In my case a new solenoid fixed it. 10 mins and I was back up and running with no leaks.
