Is a Hobart 210 mvp too small a machine to weld a quick attach plate to a front end bucket?

It is rated to weld 3/8". Aren't your plates 3/4"?

here is the spec from the first weld on plate I found - still don't know if my welder will safely handle it.

•Constructed of 1/4" Grade 50 steel with a 3/8" thick Top Bar

A well burnt in three pass would be acceptable in my book. Are you running hard wire or flux core?

If you're having doubts about the capacity of your welder, here are a few things to consider doing.

Bevel the quick attach plate.
Preheat the weld zones after tacking everything up, just before welding.
Use 100% CO2 gas, with Lincoln's L-56 wire.
Use Lincoln's NR-212 self shielded wire.
Weld everything vertical up hill.

I have been using flux core but looking at Shield Arcs suggestion i will get some Lincoln's NR-212 which i think is also flux core.

is that .45 only or does it come in different sizes?

I think L-56 you can get in .023" or .025", .030", .035", ,045", .052", and 1/16".

NR-212 the smallest I think they sell is .045". You can get .030" in NR-211.

If you have access to both sides of each plate no worries at all. Consider getting some scraps appx same thickness & test your methods. Happy to see Shield Arcs list of tips !
