Lift Arm Draw Pin ggabernat(Forbestown,CA) 8/7/01 8:48 pm

I am trying to repair my tractor which is a Yanmar YM165D. I don't
know when it was manufactured but the engine is stamped 2TR13A-26309.
The broken part is called a Lift Arm Draw Pin and is part of the 3-
point hitch. It attaches the hydraulic lift arm to the link which in
turn connects to the lower lift arm of the 3-point hitch.
So far I have found 5/8" dia. pins for Category 0 hitches and 7/8"
dia. for Category 1. However, measuring my broken part, the pin dia.
seems to be closer to 3/4".
This pin also threads into the lift arm and I am conserned that the
threads match. The rest of the tractor is metric but I don't know
whether the hitch parts are metric or SAE.
I would prefer to find a pin to match the original, but failing that
I would be willing to re-bore and re-tap (or Heli-Coil) the arm so
long as the pin dia. and length were OK.
Can anyone help with this. I live in Northern California near
Oroville.

The part should be available from Yanmar. Contact me at
sheaftractor@c... if you still need it.

I don't know if that upper pin is rated by category or not. Tomorrow
I'll go down to the barn and measure my YM165D and can tell you the
exact thread and measurements. It should be an easy enough part to
make, but I'll bet that one of the guys that sell Yanmar parts here
could get one to you pretty quickly, too. If it is the part I think
that it is, then it is part # 194340-10050 in my parts book. It is
threaded M14 and screws into the outer end of the upper lift arm and
is backed by a couple of lock washers and a M14 nut. I recall
something in an old service bulletin about making sure that the nut
snugged down good so that the pin wouldn't unscrew a little and get
sloppy in the lift arm. Maybe that is why the parts book shows two of
the lock washers, although I'd just as soon do away with the lock
washers entirely and use regular washers and locktite myself.

This is a "thank you" to Len and Scotty. The part arrived this
afternoon and buttoned up first try, just like the Yanmar design
engineers intended. I even managed not to bark my knuckles on
anything,which is a welcome change.
Thanks to Scotty for the correct P/N. Thanks to Len for the part.
I took it out to the boonies where I had abandoned my dozer blade,
picked it up and now averything is back in the shop. Guess I'll have
to go back to work tomorrow - Oh well!
