The last thing you would want to do is buy a tractor from this guy. Last summer I bought a 2210 D from him for his cheaper than any one else price. I went to his lot picked one out and paid him 5000.00 down to hold it for me until I could make transportation arrangements. When I came back to pick up the tractor he switched it with one that was of lesser condition. The tires on the lesser one were all weather cracked, and there was rust coming thru the paint. He swore up and down that this was the one I picked out. The smartest thing I did was to take pictures of the original tractor which clearly indicated the switch. I got my money back and bought a 2210 D from LMTC and am completly satisfied. I have never done business with any as dis honest as Rhinehart tractor.

ar963,

This is too funny. I was at Southland on Wednesday and was shooting the breeze with Ben and he was talking about a fellow coming up from the Miami area to get a tractor on Friday. Suppose that was you. :D

You must have used the tractor some by now? how's it working out?

Yep that was me. I have my 2610 down here now and am completely amazed at what it can do. I cleared a small section of my property in no time. Filling that loader bucket with material is a breeze. I have a Massey Feguson "Work Mule" tractor with a huge bucket (4 yards I think) and have always had trouble filling the bucket. The 2610 is a bit tipsy so the first order of business is getting a ROPS on it. Ben worked late getting the loader on it wednesday, i sure appreciated that when I went to pick it up on friday.

Tipsy in what direction, side to side or front to rear? You certainly need a ROPS, but you also want to do everything you can to keep from ever having to use it. If it is side to side did you know that you can swap the rear wheels, left to right, right to left, keeping the direction of rotation the same and gain several inches of width?

It feels like it's going to tip over on it's side. I will switck the wheels and see how it does. Thanks

I felt the same way. Switching the rear wheels did make significant improvements. I tried the front too, but it changed steering and I could tell that the front axle was not liking it.

I'm curious though.......what are you feeling tippy on in south Florida? :)

I am building a house pad and it's got a 3:1 slope around the edge. The Yanmar does not like that slope.

ROPS didn't come installed on the tractor ??

Are the rear tires filled? In Florida, plain water should be fine.

When I started reading here one post stuck in my mind. Someone said there was a Yanmar like mine with a loader at the plant where he worked, and inexperienced operators had laid the thing on its side several times since he had been there. That was a flat paved area, while my use is all slopes and soft tilled ground.

The old apple growers around here recommended that since they don't use a ROPS (so they can disc next to the trees), widening the stance and ballasting all the tires to maximum was necessary to prevent a rollover on these slopes.

I loaded the rear tires to maximum as soon as I put this tractor in service. Later I bought a ROPS and reduced the rear tire ballast to the maximum weight recommended in the Operator Manual. It feels stable but I still avoid bad side slopes or inch along with no possibility of a bounce when there is no alternative.

I recommend as others have said - widen the stance, add a ROPS, and also ballast the rear tires. I found 50% ballast in these oversize tires was the maximum before the extra weight was felt going up hills.
