I have a quick connect hose already made up for when I took the FEL off. I'll try that, but it seems that when it's running unloaded and makes the racket but quiets when you load it sounds like a bushing or something like that.

I will change fluid and clean screen before I replace the pump.

Put a pressure gage in the system so you will know where the pressure is and how much.

It could be a bad bushing or something in the pump but I would try to eliminate as much as possible before blindly digging into/replacing it.
