Welcome to the forum Randy
It's been a few yrs. since I bought my 2000 Had the same problem.
Can't say this a sure fix but worked on mine.Under the seat is the valve You will know thats it from the plunger. Your lift handle moves it Up is in and out is down. There is a adjustment on the left side of the valve that moves forward or back with a pin in it that stops it about 1/2 turm.Lift your 3point up and turn the adj.to the left or forward and the lift should fall or Turn the adj. to the right and it should stay or stop from falling.Make sure your full on Trans.
hyd. fluid also and you might want to think about servicing the trans.fluid. and screen. My adjustment screw is straight up after I serviced it you will see the pin.Hope this might help but I'm sure there will be others on here that will be more than glad to help.
