Where is the hydraulic screen/filter on ym1601D? Does anybody have a picture of the location?

It is on the left side of the transmission housing, below the brake cover and in front of the axle shaft. 1Danny posted a diagram in your other thread from several years ago, here. If it isn't there, perhaps you have one of the Franken-tractors that sometimes appear, and throw a wrench into repair work.

If so, follow the large suction line back to the transmission. It will be there or immediately adjacent. You should bevable to find a serial number with the model in the transmission case about where your left ankle goes while sitting on the tractor. Good luck, let us know how you do!

i forgot all about the old post. i should have done a better search. i was changing oil, filter, fuel filter, and air filter yesterday on the 1601d and remember that it has a filter screen that need to be cleaned. i also did the same work (fuel filter, pto filter, oil/filter, air filter) on two fords tractors. getting ready for hay season.

No problem about the old post (not that I am in any way in charge), I just pointed it out because it might not actually be located where it is supposed to be, if you don't really have a 1601. When there are tractors labeled one thing but actually another, advice or information cannot apply.

    Did you get it cleaned?

i will look this weekend when i get back in town. i think the tractor is a 1601d. that is what the stickers on the hood read. but who knows. i have had the tractor for six years. got it from a used car lot. never given me any problems. it don't get used in heavy work, have two other tractors for that. do some light bushhog work around the fruit trees. most of the time it is use as the four wheeler around the farm.
