On my 2420D the hydraulic relief valve makes all kinds of sounds and it takes for ever for the oil to warm up enough for the 3-pt. and loader to work. Sometimes they still won't work unless I shut the tractor off and restart it. Low engine speed or turning the power assisted steering also helps somewhat. Sometimes it works completely correct. I have cleaned the filter in the transaxle and changed the fluid to 303 equivalent. I'm sure the relief has a problem but what do I look for? Whats in that thing? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif thanks

After looking through my Classic Manuals CD I don't see the relief I'm talking about anywhere. It's high on the right side of the engine above the spin-on hydraulic filter. Do I have this because mine has power steering? That seems to work okay athough I can feel the relief sound in the steering wheel. Bill
