I pretty much hi jacked deepNdirt's thread on "Something you realized you can do with your tractor". I apologize for that. Some may find my gardening tactics interesting and some may not. It will not be required reading. It is Yanmar related.

I normally plant turnip greens, spinach, etc in late winter. Since I'm bored I decided to experiment some and plant some right now. Our North East Texas winters are different from one year to the next so we will see what happens.

Here are some shots of my RS1300N tiller in action. Will follow up later.

Back with next step. Just got this planter last year so am enjoying playing with it. I am only using it to put down fertilizer. I really wasn't drinking although my rows might indicate that.

Don't think you High Jacked DND. Or am I trying to on yours. Here's the YM2000 and A RS1400 Tiller. No need for the Wheels it won't go any Deeper. This small Garden and prob. 4 Acres with the FM is what I bought it for.

I agree with the wheels. Mine or used when disconnected to balance the tiller. I do have them a little low in my earlier pictures.

OK, last step. I planted turnips, spinach, radish, and lettuce. Doubt any will make it but we will see. Planted the seed with the little hand seeder in 1st picture, then covered with rake. By no means do I mean to insinuate this is the proper way to garden. I'm really a novice at it. Wish I had paid more attention to my dad (born in 1913) and his farming. He knew how to raise a crop.

Clemsonfor, you will notice some of that chewed up Bermuda grass in the last picture. Please don't ask any embarrassing questions about whether I poisoned it or not. :ashamed:

Your garden spot is looking good! Did you drag it? I'm not seeing any clumps of grass, I"m envious of both you and Carey having tillers, it's one thing I have yet to get,.... I sold the smaller Roper tractor I been using to till with, I'm hoping to use the money to get one like you guys have by Spring for my tractor, I give up any hopes in finding one I can recondition from the local salvage yard,

Winston, what a nice thread! I'm interested and excited to hear about and see what others are doing. Your planter, particularly, is a nice piece of equipment. I think it would be fun to see what everyone does in their gardens. I have a couple things I haven't used before that I recently bought, and will try to be using this next season.

I have a Machio 48 inch tiller. that I use in my garden.I started the 4x50 foot beds like Winston to break up the clay ,then I use the tiller.Buy doing 4 foot beds with walkways ,your tractor don't compact your subsoil.

Good looking helper you got there. Looks like that Machio pulverizes the ground real well.
