I am worried because my tractor is sitting outside in heavy rains, and the exhaust is not covered. I am out of state right now, and cannot get back to it for a week or so. It will ultimately be stored under cover, but the rains came early and heavy. There has been nearly 3 inches of rain. What can I expect has happened from the heavy rain, and what can I do to remedy it once I get back?

I expect these things get dunked once in a while in the rice paddies - and that is why they have a compression release.

I would remove the exhaust manifold (4 bolts) and pour the water out of the exhaust. (Its gasket is usually re-usable). Then USE THE COMPRESSION RELEASE to spin it and blow any water out of the cylinders, before cranking it under compression - incompressible water can shatter a piston or bend a rod.

Then maybe change the oil if it looks milky.

I doubt you've hurt anything.

The exhaust does have a 90 degree bend at the top, but rain doesn't always come straight down.
