YM 180D 3 point lifts but only seems to only "float" when the lever is fully lowered (ie following the ground plane); to goes up and down fine; and can stay up at any level; or when lowered I can stop it at any point; but It would be good if I could push it down; so as to lift the rear wheels; and be locked at that point in place when using the box grader; or do all 3 points float when level with the ground plane :confused2:(I hope that makes sense):D. Been a while; cheers.

Three point lifts do not have pressure down or locking ability when in the down position. They just float. Up power only.

Correct. Up by hydraulic power, down by gravity.

If you could force the three point hitch down to lighten/lift the rear wheels, your traction would be zero.

Ah! thanks for confirming; this is good in a way; at least I know the hydraulics are working properly.
