YANMAR YM336D/W Loader JOHN DEERE 850/ W Loader 2WD&4WD Kubota RTV 900
It seems like I fix one problem and another pops up.I got the front drive axle and the tractor seemed fine so I mowed with about 6 hours and the tractor quit pulling in the high range. Does anyone have an idea if that would be the main clutch or the power shift clutch pack?

"quit pulling in the high range"

Exactly what does that mean?

The hydrotrans fluid and screen had just been changed when I bought the tractor. Fluid looks new and is full. When you put it 4th gear it will pull on level ground but if you put the least bit of load on it it slips. In the lower gears it seems to be ok. I'm going to check today when the tractor is cold and see if it makes any difference.

Could be the transmission but my first suspicion would be the clutch. If your able to load the pto and see if it slips that might prove or disprove. Or maybe you could notice if the pto slows when the tractor slows. Transmission and pto go through the clutch.

Classic symptoms of a slipping clutch. Start by verifying that the pedal linkage has some slack when your foot isn't on the pedal.

The adjustment was the first thing I checked. I will load the pto and reply the results later. Thanks for the idea's.

The pto still worked when the tractor stopped pulling. Bad news. The low ranges seem strong . better at high rpms. Think it could be the power shift pump? The lift and the power steering work fine so I didn't think it woul be the screen.

If pto continues with tractor stalled out then it has to be in the powershift components. Could be numerous things. I will quote the 226 power shift trouble shooting for: POWER SHIFT TRANSMISSION TROUBLE SHOOTING. Tractor does not move whe power shift lever in a certain speed position: 1. Main relief valve pressure is too high. 2. Main relief valve stuck or its pilot hoe plugged, or wrong spring or shims installed. Solution. Check main relief valve, springs and adjusting shims.

Figure your 336 is about the same as far as how it works.

If not the clutch, it's usually broken relief valve spring(s). Accessible outside the transmission.
