Yanmar 276D
Hello, I have a Yanmar 276D and recently the Powershift transmission hasn't been engaging firmly. The loader and 3pt hitch work normally. There was 300 hours and 7 years on the transmission fluid. I replaced the fluid and hydraulic filter with the same brands that were in it. I also installed a new screen filter because I damaged the old one. The filter looked clean and the hydraulic fluid was not milky. The clutch is adjusted properly and I can shift threw the transmission ranges normally.
The Powershift is still not engaging properly. If it won't engage properly, I can shift from first to reverse, or vice versa, to get a positive engagement.
Is my next step to inspect the relief valve spring? My manual is not detailed enough to show it. Does anyone have a diagram? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you confident your linkage is tight and properly adjusted? Sending you a pm.

I think the linkage is adjusted correctly. I don't have a good manual, so I'm just winging it. The problem is in both forward and reverse. I'm assuming that if I lengthen/shorten the linkage that I will make forward or reverse worse. The column linkage is tight and moves the lever on the transmission.

What do you mean by "engaging properly"? What does it do otherwise? Bad relief valve springs cause lack of movement or delayed movement, no bearing on engagement.

Same symtoms as a slipping clutch. If I shift from forward to reverse, or vise versa, it will lock up and I'll be good to go. I haven't moved it much since the problem started.

Are you sure the clutch is not slipping? The lower the gear the less the slippage. Does the pto have good power?

I should have tried the PTO when the rotary mover was on it. I did not. The 3 pt. hitch and loader work normally.
Could be the clutch, but I don't think so. There's plenty of free play in the pedal. The problem came on suddenly, with no warning.

You have not yet checked the relief valve spring?

I'm having trouble getting to it. I have removed the shifter linkage and the shifter cover. I think the piece below that is called the regulator case. I can't seem to budge it with a dead blow hammer.

The cover has spring pins (dowel pins) and will have to come straight up.
